Robert: Big Changes in a Short Time

Our son has been going to Dr. Ralston since January. The turnaround in him has been remarkable. Our son has always been quiet and shy. He would never look you in the eye when you talked to him. I’ve always described my son as being socially backwards.

In December, my husband saw an article on the web about the Brain Balance Program and contacted Dr. Ralston. At Dr. Ralston’s request, we didn’t tell his teacher we had started a new program just so we would know when people would see a difference in our son.

A Noticeable Difference in School in Less Than Two Weeks

We started the program over winter break and his teacher could tell a difference the very first day back to school. Our son walked into the classroom with his head up and said, “Hi, Mr. M.” His teacher was shocked. The first week is always especially hard for our son with the transition from break to school. He usually doesn’t talk to anyone or work for the first few days sometimes weeks. But our son was actually talking to everyone and answering his teacher’s questions. He was actually volunteering answers where in the past his teacher said, “Getting answers out of him was like pulling teeth.” His teacher actually had to tell our son to give other people a chance to talk and answer questions. This has never happened before!

By the third day his teacher was seeking me out wanting to know what we were doing different with my son. His teacher will tell anyone that will listen that our son is a totally different kid since he started the Brain Balance Program. His teacher keeps telling us that we can’t ever stop doing the program!

From Shut Down to Outgoing and Verbalizing Wants & Needs

It is just amazing how outgoing our son has become since starting the Program. He still gets overwhelmed and shuts down but he comes back much more quickly. He can now verbalize why he shuts down and, as he puts it, he can tell us what is going on in his brain.

Because of the Brain Balance program he is now able to verbalize his wants and needs. Our son is getting ready for middle school and like a lot of his peers he was very nervous but he finally sat down and told us what was making him nervous and what would help him be less anxious.

Once his needs were met you could see his body posture become more confident because he was able to tell people his concerns and they were met. He is able to do this because the Brain Balance Program has given him the confidence and ability to decipher his needs and to verbalize them.

A Totally Different Kid Since Starting the Brain Balance Program

And it’s not only his teachers at school. At church everyone comments that our son is a totally different kid since he has been doing the Brain Balance Program. His Sunday school teacher comments how much Robert participates now. One member commented that in the six years we have been attending church she never knew that our son had the brightest blue eyes she had ever seen. But the other day our son looked at her face during the greeting and she was just amazed!

Our son’s peers are amazed at the change also. In the past our son’s presentations were very had to hear and he looked at the floor. Since starting the Brain Balance Program he looks up and presents in a loud, concise voice. During Read-A-Loud, the students make comments about how they can now hear our son across the room and he doesn’t hesitate over any words; whereas, in the past they would have to guess where he was in the passage because they couldn’t hear him.

Improved Social Skills = More Friends Than Ever

Our son has more friends than he has ever had since starting the Brain Balance Program. He laughs and talks with everyone in his classroom now, where in the past Robert would go off by himself and not join in a group of students.

Our son’s change has been remarkable. He has gone from a quiet, shy young man to an outgoing, confident young man. He is a totally different kid because of the Brain Balance Program.

Luke: Successful Treatment of Tourette's w/ Added Syndromes

Dear Dr Ralston, I wanted to pass along some information about my son Luke. Luke has Tourette’s syndrome plus the ADD and OCD that can sometimes go along with the diagnosis. Like every parent who has a child with a disorder like this I was desperate for help, so I made an appointment for a neurologist down at Riley.

We waited 3 months to see the neurologist only to hear that his recommended course of action was to refer me to the “Medication Management Group”. I have no problem with medication but I did not feel like that was the course of action I was ready to pursue.

From Skeptical Referral to Thankful Parent

I was referred to you by a friend and of course was very skeptical. After our first meeting and a little more research on my own I realized that the things you were saying made sense. We started your recommended program immediately.

Fast forward to today… my son came in to tell me that he scored the 2nd highest grade in his advanced math class and he has been asked to represent his school in an area math contest.

My son is smart, kind, and well liked by his peers and his teachers. In fact one of his teachers called my house about a month ago just to tell me how Luke was not only a good student but a wonderful mentor and friend in the classroom. She said he is a joy to have as a student.
